Day vs colour night vision — which do you need?
Standard cameras use infrared (IR) night vision: invisible IR light lets the camera see in complete darkness, producing sharp black-and-white footage. Colour night vision cameras use a more sensitive sensor plus a subtle warm spotlight to keep footage in colour at night — much better if you need to identify the colour of a car or a jacket. For most homes we mix both: IR on the back fence, colour night vision on the driveway and front door where identification matters most.
