Fibre optic case studies in Auckland
Backbones, building-to-building links and OTDR-certified handovers.
Fibre is the right answer when copper runs out of distance or bandwidth: between buildings, between floors, out to a detached workshop or across several houses on one property. It is also the part of a job where a specification can quietly cost more than it needs to.
These case studies cover backbone work and extensions in Auckland. One of them is the job where we reviewed a client’s specification, found it asked for more fibre than the distances needed, and recommended the cheaper option that still met the requirement in full. Another ran fibre to four houses on a single site.
Every fibre job we hand over is OTDR-tested and certified, with the trace in the handover pack. The studies here show what that looks like on a real site: the route, the terminations, the test and what it enables next. Fibre work in Auckland is still quoted vaguely by most installers; these pages are meant to make it concrete.
