Short answer: we install from the Hikvision range and specify per site rather than fitting one model everywhere. Bullets and turrets cover lines of approach, panoramic and fisheye cover width, PTZ and ANPR do specialist jobs, and corrosion-rated housings go near the sea. A typical Auckland home mixes two or three.
Most CCTV quotes list model numbers and assume you will work out the rest. This page is the other way round: what each camera in our Hikvision range is actually for, so you can follow the reasoning when we specify one for your property.
How to read this: we specify per site rather than fitting one model everywhere. A typical job mixes two or three of these — identification cameras where people come close, wide cameras where you need context, and occasionally something specialist. We do not publish prices here because the number depends on camera count, cable runs and access, none of which we know until we have walked the property.
Everything below is current as at September 2026. Hikvision revises its range regularly; if you are reading this much later, treat it as a guide and ask us what has replaced a given model.
Everyday bullets and turrets
These are the workhorses — the cameras that end up on most Auckland homes and small commercial sites. Front door, back door, side access, driveway. Hybrid light models carry both infrared and white light, so they record in black-and-white until something triggers them and then switch to full colour. The motorised-zoom models let us dial the field of view in on site rather than guessing from a plan.

Panoramic dual-sensor — 180° from one housing
Two sensors side by side in a single housing, stitched into one wide image. One camera, one cable, one recorder channel covering a frontage that would otherwise need two or three cameras pointed in different directions. Useful across a wide house front, a shop window line, or a corner where two walls meet.

Fisheye — 360° from a single ceiling point
A single ceiling-mounted camera that sees an entire room. Excellent for knowing what happened and where someone went; weaker for identifying a face at the far side of the space. We normally pair a fisheye with a turret at the entry door, so you get the whole-room picture and a usable face shot.

PTZ — pan, tilt and optical zoom
A camera that physically moves and zooms optically rather than digitally, so detail holds up when you zoom in. The TandemVu type runs a fixed wide camera and a moving zoom camera in one unit, so you keep the overview while the zoom follows something. Suited to large sites with someone watching, or with automatic tracking enabled.

Number plate recognition (ANPR)
Reading plates reliably on moving vehicles is a specific job, not something a standard camera does well by accident. These use a dedicated lens, tuned shutter settings and plate-recognition processing. If plates are the reason you are installing cameras, say so at the site visit — it changes the whole spec, including where the camera goes and what angle it needs to the road.

4G / LTE — where there is no internet on site
Cameras with a SIM built in. For lifestyle blocks, construction sites, remote sheds, bare sections and anywhere the fibre has not arrived. You will need a data plan, and footage review over mobile data is slower than over a wired connection — but it is the difference between coverage and none.

Harsh environments — corrosion and explosion-proof
Coastal Auckland, dairy sheds, pool plant rooms, fuel and chemical storage. Standard weatherproof housings handle rain; they do not handle salt spray, wash-down chemicals or explosive atmospheres. These use stainless or anti-corrosion housings and, in the explosion-proof case, are certified for environments where a spark is the hazard.

What we actually put on a typical Auckland home
Turrets at the doors and side access, because that is where identification happens and the ball-in-socket housing avoids the infrared bounce that ruins night footage under a soffit. A bullet on the driveway or street frontage, where the longer housing gives more reach after dark. If the property is coastal, corrosion-resistant hardware regardless of what the sensor is.
What we do not do is fit the same model in every position. A camera watching a gate 30 metres away and a camera watching your front door have different jobs.

Frequently asked
Do you only install Hikvision?
No. We are certified on Hikvision, Dahua, Uniview and Verkada, and we specify whichever suits the site and the budget. This page covers the Hikvision range because it is the one we are asked about most.
Can I ask for a specific model?
Yes, and if it is the right camera for the position we will fit it. If it is not, we will tell you why and what we would put there instead — you can still overrule us.
Why are there no prices on this page?
Because a camera price on its own is misleading. What you pay depends on how many cameras, how hard the cable runs are, what recorder the system needs and how accessible the mounting points are. We price the job after seeing it, in writing, within 24 hours.
Are these all in stock?
We specify per site and order in for the job. Mainstream bullets and turrets are readily available; the specialist models — plate recognition, explosion-proof, 4G — have longer lead times, and we will tell you what that means for your timeline at the quote stage.
Will these work with my existing recorder?
Often yes, if the recorder is Hikvision and recent enough, and there is a spare channel with enough bandwidth. We check this before quoting rather than after, because replacing a recorder you did not budget for is not a conversation anyone enjoys.
Which Hikvision camera should I choose?
It depends on the position, not on the house. A frontage wants width, a driveway wants reach and plate detail, a coastal site wants a corrosion-rated housing. Most Auckland jobs mix two or three models from this range rather than fitting one everywhere.
Do you only install Hikvision?
It is the range we hold accounts for and know best, and familiarity with one line produces better results than switching brands per job. If a site genuinely needs something outside it, we will say so.
